America has always wanted to be better than all the other countries, but in the 1950s, that seemed to simmer down a little. The consensus of the 1950’s was far from the disillusionment of the people in the 1960’s. People weren’t happy with the way the Soviet Union was getting ahead, so America used its best power, money, and worked its magic. In the end, it did pay off.
