Ex GF with abusive mother?

hi long story short i was with a girl a little while agowhos mom was abusing her and she said she wanted to kill herself i convinced her not to btw her parents are divorced her dad is gone and she only really has her sister grandpa and i but her sister moved out while we were dating so me and her grandpa were her main emotional outlets about a week or two ago her mother started to hit her so she hit her back and left the house for the day a while longer things started to simmer down but our relationship was kind of going downhill and eventually it got to the point were i couldnt even say a joke without her taking it and twisting it so she could start a fight with me and when i didnt tell her about how i felt she got mad to i told her i didnt want to cause any more drama but still she kept ppestering meeventually we broke up but the next week or two (unsure how long) her grandpa died the thing is i dont know if she is making all of this stuff because even now she cant take a joke even if it was being mean to anyone i think she justs likes to make drama in her life Did I do the right thing oand she is faking it or did i screw it up cuz she is telling the truth btw she is always having fun with her friends and never even seems depressed PLEASE HELP?!?!
